Mercedes Marathon 2010 weekend

This is the Mercedes Marathon weekend. This will be my third time to run this marathon in the last three years – one half-marathon (my first ever marathon) and two marathons (including this year). This is also my 5th marathon in the 2009-2010 season. And as if that wasn’t enough, this completes my quest to run 3N3 – 3 marathons in 3 months in three cities here in the great state of Alabama. I am looking forward to this marathon.

I am trying to prepare myself mentally and physically. Since my last marathon at Mobile in January, I have not trained as much. I wanted to rest my body. I will have to see how I will perform.

Here are a few of the things I am working on:
1) Drinking a lot of water
2) Leg massages
3) Watching my diet by eating light food till Friday
4) Carb load on Friday and Saturday
5) Resting as much as possible

I feel that mental permeation is a bit difficult. My mind is saying “26.2 again”? I am trying to be as focused as possible. In the next few days, I plan to mediate as well.

I hope at the end of day everything will work out.

  1. How’d that “crab load” work out? I hope you meant carb load, but if you crab loaded and you’re doing this good, PLEASE let me know

    I meant Carb load.. but crab load will be great. I fixed it on the post.

    I did finished the race at 4:20. Not a PR, but good run.
