Jogger struck and killed by vehicle in Mountain Brook

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL (WBRC) – The Jefferson County Coroner’s office reports that a jogger is dead after being hit by a car in Mountain Brook on Monday morning.

The Coroner says 38-year-old Sundeep Caplash of Mountain Brook was hit by a car in the 3200 block of Montevallo Road around 6:10 a.m.Mountain Brook police have yet to say if there will be any charges in relation to the accident. …

  1. After watching the news last night and seeing his picture I realized where I knew him from. About 20 years ago, right after I graduated from South Alabama, I had moved back up here and was helping out a college organization at Birmingham Southern College get started. I was working with some guys who were seniors and later that year Sundeep was one of the freshmen that joined this organization. I did not know him that well but once I saw his picture on the news I realized who he was. He was a great guy and very outgoing from what I remember. I feel for his wife and kids after this terrible accident.

    I will make a point to be much more aware when running on the roads. Stay safe everyone.
