Inaugural Birmingham 3 Mountain Stage Race

The inaugural Birmingham 3 Mountain Stage race will be held on three mountains in Birmingham. The first stage will be at Red Mountain Park, the second stage at Ruffner Mountain Park and the Final Stage at Oak Mountain State Park. The three mountains are within a 15 minute drive from the Thursday afternoon Package Pickup on Highway 280 at Mountain High Outfitters.

The Stage Race will be held over three consecutive days and will equal 50 total miles. The races will be very Demanding. All three stages will be primarily on single track trails and some of these trails are very technical. Stages two and three will have some very steep climbing. This race will not be a “walk in the park.” Some of the trails used at Oak Mountain have never been used in a race. Most local runners don’t even know some of these trail exist.

Runners may enter only one or two stages at a reduced price but will not receive race shirts or be eligible for awards.

About the Stages

Stage 1, Friday, October 26 at Red Mountain Park. The race will start at 8:00 AM at the Visitor’s center at 277 Lyon Lane, Birmingham, Alabama 35211. The first stage will be approximately 12 miles.

Stage 2, Saturday, October 27 at Ruffner Mountain Park. The race will begin at 8:00 AM at the Nature Center located at 1214 81st Street South, Birmingham, Alabama 35206. This stage will be 14 miles.

Stage 3, Sunday, October 28th at Oak Mountain State Park. The race will start at 8:00 AM at the North End of the park near Lunker Lake. The final stage will be 24 miles. .
