Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya ran the fastest marathon ever, a world record time of 2:03:02, to win today’s windblown Boston Marathon. Moses Mosop was second in 2:03:06; it was his debut marathon. NYC champ Gebre Gebremariam was 3rd in 2:04:53, followed 5 seconds later by Ryan Hall. Hall’s time of 2:04:58 is the fastest ever run by an American. (Khalid Khannouchi’s American record is 2:05:38.)
